Eshalon is owned by Cheryl and Craig Mercure, they know firsthand how stressful and time consuming the search for long term care providers can be. About seven years ago, Cheryl’s grandfather, Jack, was diagnosed with severe dementia, he was unable to return home to his wife of 60 years. When Cheryl started the search for a nursing home that could manage her grandfather’s condition, she found there were very few available resources to help. She found that the senior placement services available were accountable to the long term care facility (because that's how they were paid). They were also not representative of all the available long term care options. Unfortunately because Jack’s family didn’t know his medical or cognitive care requirements or which facility would be best suited to handle him, he was moved to 4 different assisted living facilities and nursing homes. He lived his final 2 years in an unfortunate behavioral health center.
When Cheryl and Craig were presented with an opportunity to open their own business, there was no question the service they wanted to provide. The goal of Eshalon and their senior placement service is to provide Seniors, senior caregivers, and family members with a reliable senior placement option. Our clients want the assisted living or nursing home that’s going to provide a safe and loving environment for their parents and grandparents. Clients also want to be sure that every detail is covered and the transition to assisted living is as seamless as possible.
